Car was at auction in '06
www.shannons.com.au/pages/auctions/lot.jsp

Auction description:
One of the finest examples of the Jaguar 420 Compact Saloon in Australia, the car had been sitting idle in a garage in Shepparton, Victoria for many years before going to Rod Phillips, a specialist body repairer and spray painter in Portland who stripped it to the bare metal. The Jaguar was subsequently acquired by the most recent owner and he completed the restoration of the vehicle to a high standard, using original parts where possible. The transmission was serviced, the brakes overhauled and the engine rebuilt with a reconditioned head, new radiator and hoses. The interior was retrimmed where necessary and a period AM radio installed to preserve the originality of the car. Much of the woodwork was redone and new carpets were fitted throughout while the exterior bright work was also redone, including the bumper bars. Even the toolbox in the boot was restored and an almost complete set of tools collected. The rebuild was completed twelve months ago and since then the Jaguar has been enjoyed on several club runs, always attracting favourable comment. Currently on Club registration, the Jaguar is sold unregistered with an owner's manual and receipt file. A Victorian roadworthy certificate will be supplied after sale.
