The example offered here is said to have been the subject of a major restoration by a combination of Manchester College of Art and Technology, the JEC and a number of specialists. The stages of the restoration were featured in many copies of the JEC magazine. Unfortunately the restoration came to a halt and the incomplete car offered as a raffle prize to JEC members. The restoration was eventually completed by the vendor and the car is now an outstanding example. Jaguar Cars had some input, providing new woodwork of the highest standard.
Suffice it to say that no part of the car remained untouched. The original 4.2 engine was rebuilt by EMS, Borg Warner automatic gearbox and transmission overhauled by Graham Whitehouse, suspension and brakes fully overhauled and the interior completely rebuilt from scratch.
Finished in gleaming black with red leather interior, the car sits on new chrome wire wheels, is equipped with new tyres, a stainless steel exhaust system from Double S and has all rechromed brightwork.
Described by the vendor as being an outstanding example (condition 1 in the main) the car comes complete with a copy of the final article in the JEC magazine, which describes the events and announces the upcoming raffle. This magazine is dated November 2007.
Guide Price: £11000 to £13000
