Ebay item 9/11/09
everywhere. It is a high quality paintjob with super clean door jambs. I would say that this was a really good low mileage Oregon car that had a knowledgable restoration done with proper upgrades to enchance the drivability. It really needs nothing. My neighbor got the car about 2 years ago and has used it without any repairs. The reason we don't know details of previous restoration is because he bought it a Barrett Jackson auction for $36,000. Yes, you read me correctly...$36,000.. People do strange things when they go to these auctions..things we might not necessarily do in moments of sanity. Anyway he did at least get a great car and has a clear Georgia title. The problem now is that my neighbor is a builder and subdivision developer and as you may have heard, there has been a slight slow down in the building industry here in Atlanta. plus he has kids with college looming..... soooo.... as usual, the fun cars are the first to take the hit. Obviously my neighbor is also going to take a hit but I have prepared him for it as best I can. This a very nice car in everyway. Virtually everything works and works well. Even the wipers park correctly. In fact the only defect I can find is a couple bubbles on the front lower fender and door corner. This happens even in the best of climates and is from condensation between 2 layers of metal and easy to repair. I believe you could use this car as my neighbor has for many years without spending a bunch of money on it (somebody already has). In the Atlanta area.

Car sold at Meekum auction 3/22

www.mecum.com/lots/HA0322-506688/1967-jaguar-420-sedan/

Auction description:

Lot F15 Houston 2022 Mar 31-Apr 2

Estimate $20,000 - $30,000 sold at $22,000

4.2L 6-cylinder engine

MSD ignition

Automatic transmission

Finished in Pale Yellow with Beige interior

Air conditioning

Craig AM/FM/Cassette radio

Clock

Tinted glass

Smiths instruments

Burlwood dash padded dash

Wire wheels with spinner centers

This 1967 Jaguar 420 Sedan is a solid example with a quality older repaint in Pale Yellow and features chromed wire wheels fitted with knock-off spinners.

This sporting luxury saloon has been upgraded under the hood with MSD ignition and inside with a Craig AM/FM/cassette radio. The beige interior remains in solid condition and shows off the luxury that characterized these fine automobiles. Smiths instruments—including a 140 MPH speedometer, 5,500 RPM tach and a central array comprising fuel, oil pressure, ammeter and water temperature gauges—are set into the burled-wood dash insert along with toggle switches and other controls, including a pushbutton for the starter. An in-dash clock occupies the center of the upper, padded dash section, and passengers enjoy well-padded, pleated leather seats, air conditioning and tinted glass.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
