This 1967 Jaguar 420 is a largely unmodified right-hand drive sedan powered by a 4.2L XK twin-cam inline-six linked to the rear wheels through a 4-speed w/overdrive manual transmission. The seller has driven the car approximately 1,500 miles since acquiring it in 2006, and it was previously featured on BaT in January 2016, along with an earlier publication in Steve Kennedy's 2003 hardcover book as shown in gallery photos. An oil change and turn signal wiring repair were completed 12 months ago. This 420 is offered with owner's manuals, maintenance booklets, and a clean Colorado title.
The body is finished in dark green, with the paintwork shown up close with bright trim and lighting. Color-matched wire wheels are secured with chrome knock-off ears and shod in 20-year-old Michelin radial tires.
Exterior features include a prominent waterfall grille, quad headlamps, fender mirrors, polished window surrounds, wrap-around bumpers with overriders, and dual exhaust outlets.
The interior features leather seats and door panels with color-matched carpets and a woodgrain dash. The condition of the seating surfaces, driver's door panel, and B-pillar covering is shown up close. The hand lever for the cruise control system has been removed according to the seller. 36,700 miles are shown on the 5-digit odometer. The seller notes the addition of rear seat belts.
The 4.2L twin-cam six draws air and fuel through a pair of SU carburetors and was rated at 245 horsepower when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Underhood components are said to remain largely unmodified apart from the addition of modern-style clamp-on battery cables. An oil change and turn signal wiring repair were completed 12 months ago.

This 1967 Jaguar 420 is a right-hand-drive example said to have been sold new at Bull Stake Motors of Darlaston, England, in January 1967 and imported to the US during the late 1970s. It is finished in green over tan leather upholstery and powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Additional equipment includes four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ wire-spoke wheels, power steering, and a heater. The car was previously listed on BaT in September 2018 and acquired by its current owner in July 2019. Service under current ownership consisted of repainting the engine and replacing the clutch. This 420 is now offered on dealer consignment with an owner’s manual, a maintenance voucher booklet, service records, European-style license plates, and a clean Colorado title.
The body was refinished in green under previous ownership and features brightwork that includes a grille, a hood leaper mascot, quad headlamp bezels, fender-mounted mirrors, window surrounds, door trim, dual exhaust outlets, and wraparound bumpers with overriders. A European-style license plate is mounted at the front, and a rear plate will accompany the car.
Body-color 15″ wire-spoke wheels secured by two-eared knock-off spinners are mounted with older Michelin Classic tires, and a spare is stowed in the trunk beneath the cargo deck. The car is equipped with independent suspension, power steering, and power-assisted disc brakes at each corner.
The cabin features a split front bench seat upholstered in tan leather, complemented by wood trim, a black dash pad, and brown carpeting. Amenities include a heater and defroster, a lockable glove compartment, a clock, door pockets, and folding center armrests. The right door armrest is damaged, and the right B-pillar upholstery is torn.
The two-spoke steering wheel is mounted on the right side of the cabin and fronts a wood veneer dashboard with a cracked lacquer finish. Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature, are joined by a Lucas ammeter. The five-digit odometer shows 38k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership. True mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter XK inline-six was rated at 245 horsepower when new and features double overhead camshafts as well as dual SU HD8 carburetors. The engine was reportedly removed and repainted in November 2022, at which time the clutch components were replaced and the oil was changed.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a floor-shifted four-speed manual transmission with a switch-activated Laycock overdrive unit.
The car is accompanied by an owner’s manual, a manufacturer’s maintenance voucher booklet, European-style license plates, and service records.
