This 1967 Jaguar S-Type was acquired in non-running condition from Michigan and brought to Utah by the seller’s father in 2014. The car wears an older repaint in white over a reupholstered red interior, and power is from a 3.8-liter inline-six paired with an automatic transmission. Additional features include chrome knock-off wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, and a factory radio. A new starter and exhaust system as well as brake and suspension components have been added under current ownership. This S-Type is offered as a running project with records from the current and previous owners in addition to a clean Utah title in the name of the seller’s father.
The seller reports that the car was previously dark red, and was repainted in its present white under previous ownership. Chipping and peeling is noted in the finish along with rust in the doors, rear wheel arches, window edges, front valance, and fuel filler area.
Chrome 15″ knock-off wire wheels are said to be replacements and wear older Bridgestone tires. Rebuilt brake calipers with stainless steel pistons were installed in 2014 along with new rear rotors and parking brake components. A new front subframe V-mount, subframe bushings, front springs, and link bushings were fitted in 2015.
The cabin was reupholstered in red under previous ownership, and features a wood dash and upper door trim. The seller reports that the clock and radio are not functional, while spotting and cracks are visible on the dash. A rim wrap has been applied to the factory two-spoke steering wheel, and the seller reports that the horn has been disconnected due to an intermittent fault. The speedometer and tachometer are said to work, though their needles wobble in operation. Approximately 99k miles are shown on the five-digit odometer, 50 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 3.8-liter straight-six sends power rearward through a column-shifted automatic transmission. A new exhaust system and battery have been installed under current ownership. The seller reports that the car suffers from a fuel leak, the SU carburetors need to be rebuilt, the starter is of the incorrect type and makes noise on occasion, and cold starts often take multiple attempts. The transmission does not shift correctly, with the seller noting that it can be difficult to select drive and that high revs are required to get the car moving from a standstill.
Service records are available from current and previous ownership, and brochures and other documentation.
