Ebay item 6/29/07 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-3-8-S-1967-Jaguar-3-8S-XKE-Ind-Susp-Low-Miles-NO- ...
Opening bid $3,500, no reserve, no bids yet, 9 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
History: This Jaguar was bought new in Vancouver, British Columbia on February 13, 1967 by a Ms. Meneely and has had four owners since, each clocking in very low miles for a total of 91,114 original miles. In 1995 the car was properly imported into Washington State and still carries a clear Washington title in the previous owner’s name. Have all the receipts since 1967 including restoration and maintenance.
Features: Super smooth Automatic with cruise control that makes this car very livable and enjoyable to drive. The car has its original steel wheels with hubcaps, trim rings and a full spare, as well as the very desirable H4 headlights, Lucas driving lights, and Smiths gauges.
Restoration: This car underwent an expensive amateur restoration about ten years ago that included an all new interior, new two tone paint in very handsome colors, re-chromed bumpers, a new British Triplex windshield, re-conditioned wood, many new seals, re-built power steering, new white wall tires, and much more. After the restoration the car sat idle in a garage for nine years prior to estate sale.
Current Status: Overall the car has held up well since restoration though still has some issues. Because it did sit for nine years it does not run, but it does turn over and sounds great. The exterior of the car is straight but the paint does not show well and is rough in spots, the interior still looks new though some of the wood on the dash is dry and cracked. There was some rust repair done during the restoration that is now visible, some bubbles in the rockers and fiberglass patching in the wheel wells. Gas tank removed for cleaning. The chrome for the most part looks great, though has some minor pitting mainly on the small trim pieces and surface rust on exhaust tips. To bring this car up to Sunday driver status, new paint would be recommended as well as a full service and inspection.
