This 1965 Jaguar 3.8-litre S-Type has been in the same family since 1967, when it was acquired by the seller's grandmother after a trip to England. Rust free and still wearing most of its original paint, this car remains largely as purchased almost 50 years ago. Largely dormant the last few years, this car has been driven on the Snowball Rally and Alpine Rally in the past, and would benefit from some mechanical freshening including brake work before returning to regular use. The car has been serviced in the last 6 months with a new battery, new spark plugs, condenser cap, and points.
Finished in British Racing Green over knock-off wire wheels, this car appears stock. Some light scuffing can be seen on the lips of the knock-off wire wheels, but overall the brightwork appears to be in very good condition. Trim, glass and lights are all presentable, though the enameled hood badge is faded. The fitted driving lights are purely cosmetic and were never wired, so they would require an update to the switchgear to work. The only paintwork done under the family's ownership is reported to be a touched up area around the rear window.
Original seats are worn with heavy cracking and discoloration on the driver's seat, moderate cracking on the passenger's seat and wear in the rear. Carpets, door panels, the headliner and other upholstered surfaces are in much better condition, with little to no staining or wear worth noting.
