Sellers description:
Barn find!!! This is a 1966 Jaguar 3.8S Saloon. It has been in storage for the last 17 years but is now running and driving although not quite ready for the road. The body is in overall excellent condition with only a few minor bumps and scratches. There is no major rust at all. the floors, frame and rockers are all solid as can be. The only rusty spots I can find are some bubbles in the paint strangely in the center of each rear door (see picture). There is some evidence that the nose of the car has had some body work in the past. The paint is decent but does have lots of minor flaws. Underneath the car looks excellent. One muffler is very rotten (and loud) but the rest of the exhaust looks good.

It had sat in dry and clean storage when we bought it and needed the radiator repaired and some carb and fuel tank work to get running. The original mechanical fan had bent and cut into the radiator. We had the radiator professionally repaired and replaced the mechanical fan with an electric one and the cooling system now works great. The car has two fuel tanks and two pumps. We cleaned up one and it currently runs on that, the other tank and pump will probably require light cleaning to be usable. Although rather cold blooded the car starts and sounds great. Once warmed up it runs pretty well. The brakes work (4 wheel disc) the automatic shifts in and out of gear and appears to be working great without leaking (We haven't driven it very far as it is not currently licensed). Someone had removed the air cleaner at some point and misplaced the automatic transmissions dip stick tube, The dip stick is here so we added a rubber tube temporarily.

The air cleaner parts are all included as well as a new grill (the one on it has a very small dent) and new windscreen washer bottle and some other spares. Most electrics and instruments are working. It has five nice wire wheels, It will need tyres. The glass and all the rubber seals are in good condition. The door seals are pretty rough. The chrome is all very presentable.

The Headliner is in great condition as are all four door panels. The leather seats don't have any major splits or problems but do show some age. The carpets are in very bad shape. The wood dash is mostly very nice except the glove compartment which had been removed for some reason (It is still with it though). The original owners manual is still with the car as is an extra set of keys. It does have a clear Title.

It is a project but has a lot going for it. and is a very solid base for restoration or could be back on the road and driving with a bit more TLC put into it.

Car can be viewed by appointment in Snohomish WA (near Seattle).

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
