1965 Jaguar 3.8 S. This is a rust free black plate California car that needs cosmetic restoration. The black plates were last issued in California in 1969, so the car has been in California at least since then. The car appears to be completely rust free. I have not found any evidence of rust anywhere. The floors appear to be virtually perfect. The trunk floor is excellent, the original beige paint is very good on it. The red leather interior is worn and cracked, but intact. The door trim is actually quite nice. All of the wood trim is restorable and does not appear to be delaminated. The car is complete, it comes with the tools, shop manual, etc. The parts not on the car in the photos are with it, such as the air clearner assembly, the trunk floormat (taken out for photos), and the windshield moldings. The car also comes with numerous extras, as seen in the pictures. The tires are in good condition, they have over 85% thread left on them, and they do not seem to be cracked at all. The chrome is all there, and is in need of replating. The car was last driven approximately a year ago, when the brake system was rebuilt extensively. The engine ran perfectly at that time. The carburetors need to be cleaned up now in order to run the engine now. The transmission was working well at the time. The body is very straight with the exception of the small dent next to the driver's side headlight. This is easy to repair, with excellent access to the back of the dent. The missing right taillight comes with the car. This is a relatively rare car, the 3.8 S model is becoming increasingly sought after.
