This 1965 Jaguar 3.8 S-Type is a four-door sedan that is finished in black over beige leather and powered by a 3.8-liter inline-six paired with a GM-sourced four-speed automatic transmission. Features include dual SU carburetors, independent rear suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, air conditioning, and 15″ knock-off wire wheels. This S-Type was acquired by the seller in 2017 and is offered with manufacturer’s literature, a knock-off hammer, and a clean Delaware title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in black and features chrome wraparound bumpers with overriders, fog lights, a driver’s side mirror, dual exhaust outlets, hinged rear windows, and a Royal Automobile Club grille badge. The seller notes evidence of prior paintwork, and blemishes are shown up close in the gallery below.
Polished 15” wire wheels are secured with two-eared knock-off spinners and mounted with 185-width Avon Radial Steel tires. Factory equipment includes an independent rear suspension and four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rears. A knock-off hammer is included in the sale.
The interior features seats trimmed in beige leather with pleated inserts, which are complimented by matching door panels and carpets. Woodgrain trim is found throughout the cabin, and additional amenities include an AM/FM radio, aftermarket air conditioning, a locking glovebox, a heater, windshield washers, rear lap belts, dome lights, front vent windows, floor mats, and toggle switches for vehicle functions.
A two-spoke steering wheel fronts a woodgrain dashboard housing Smiths instrumentation, which includes a 140-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock, and auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 40k miles, approximately 2k of which have been added by the seller. True mileage is unknown.
The 3.8-liter DOHC inline-six is fed via dual SU carburetors and was factory rated at 220 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a GM-sourced 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission.
The Delaware title lists the VIN as 1B75271BW, while the vehicle’s data plate displays P1B75271BW.
