Car was at auction in '09
    www.bonhams.com/cgi-bin/public.sh/pubweb/publicSite.r

    Auction description:
Sale 17263 - Collectors' Motor Cars, Motorcycles and Automobilia, 18 Nov 2009
    Yorkshire Event Centre, Harrogate
    Lot No: 466
    1965 Jaguar S-Type 3.4-Litre Saloon
    Registration no. EPY 400C
    Chassis no. P1B5023DN
    Engine no. 8B5926-8

Sold for £10,120 inclusive of Buyer's Premium

First registered to one Edward Dutton of Scarborough, this 3.4-litre S-Type was purchased by the current vendor's father in November 1973, at which time the odometer reading stood at 20,342 miles. After his father's death in 1997, the vendor and his sister jointly inherited the car. Always stored under cover, the Jaguar has been used mainly for family weddings in recent years and by April 2008 the mileage had only risen to 29,170. A manual/overdrive model finished in green with matching leather interior, the car is offered with Swansea V5 and is expected to be taxed and MoT'd by time of sale. A stainless steel exhaust is the only notified deviation from factory specification.

    Car returned to auction 9/11

    Body Colour: Green
    Trim Colour: Green

This particular example is believed but not warranted to have covered a mere 29,000 miles from new in the hands of just three owners. Remarkably original, 'EPY 400C' was first registered to Edward Dutton of Scarborough on 21st September 1965 and is understood to have recorded some 20,342 miles in his care before passing to its second keeper during November 1973. Said to have been stored under cover ever since, the Jaguar was purchased by the vendor from renowned marque specialist J.D. Classics in November 2009. Treated to a recent overhaul of its front brakes and suspension, the S-type has also benefited of late from a new clutch, stainless steel exhaust and fresh set of tyres. Finished in Green with original Green leather upholstery, the sports saloon is described by the vendor as being in "very good" condition with regard to its engine, four-speed manual plus overdrive transmission, bodywork and interior trim. Worthy of close inspection, 'EPY 400C' is taxed and MOT'd into February next year.
