Car to be at auction 3/25
www.tradeclassics.com/auctions/jaguar/1965-jaguar-s-type-2/
Auction description:
First registered in London in May 1965, the car has been in the hands of just four owners since then. The provenance goes back to 1987, with invoices, MOTs and contemporary photos of the car with its 3rd owner who clearly used and enjoyed it. It was placed in storage at renowned Jaguar Specialist Chris Coleman's workshop in the early 2000s.
*We noted the recorded mileage changes in 1987 from 62,970 to 32,608 in 1989.
Taken on by its current owner in 2003, who stripped the car down and treated it to a bare-metal respray, he continued to keep the car in a healthy mechanical state.
The most recent work on the car was carried out in late 2023, with a bill for £2,500 which includes a full service, brake servo, bushes and a new master cylinder. Work to remedy leaking core plugs was carried out earlier in 2023. Other documented work in the last 10 years includes a new voltage regulator, recondition dynamo, new battery and retracking.
Earlier invoices suggest servicing, clutch work, ball joints, bushes, clutch slave cylinder overhaul, new fuel sender unit, new fuel pump and seal kit which over the ~21 years tally up to almost £18k worth of work.
The car was last serviced in November 2023, and it comes with two keys.
We’ve done all our usual seller checks including photo ID, V5 and also actioned a history check on the vehicle - this is a professional check operated by HPI that will highlight if the car has been previously stolen, recorded as being in an accident, or have any outstanding finance - note, this does not include a mileage history check.
