In 1985, this Daimler was given a Dutch license plate and in 2002 the car was completely overhauled by the well-known restoration company Noble House B.V. in the Netherlands, specialized in the restoration of English classics. The restoration, which cost a total of more than €43,000, has been documented down to the smallest detail and can be viewed thanks to an extensive photo report. This careful and professional approach is still visible today; the car is in very good condition and has retained its beauty, charm and mechanical integrity all these years.

The Daimler V8 250 was one of the last models Daimler produced before the company was taken over by Jaguar in 1960. The model was based on the popular Jaguar Mark 2, but with some unique features that gave it its own luxurious identity. While the Mark 2 was often powered by a six-cylinder inline engine, Daimler opted for a powerful and refined 2.5-liter V8 engine, designed by legendary engine developer Edward Turner. This engine not only gave the Daimler V8 250 more power and a silky smooth driving experience, but also made the model lighter and more agile than its Jaguar counterpart.

The combination of British elegance, powerful performance and Daimler craftsmanship immediately made the V8 250 popular among drivers looking for a luxury sedan with sporting aspirations. The car was especially famous for its smoothness, the deep sound of the V8 and the perfect balance between comfort and dynamics.

However, this example of the Daimler V8 250 Saloon is not only distinguished by its heritage. Thanks to the restoration by Noble House B.V. The car was restored to perfection and returned to showroom condition in 2002. The interior, exterior and mechanical components were carefully restored, with an eye for every detail. This makes the car not only a feast for the eyes, but also a real pleasure to drive. Everything from the paint and chrome trim to the luxurious leather interior has been restored to its original '60s glory. Currently this restoration still looks very good, with the exception of slight 'pitting' on some chrome parts.

Importantly, this Daimler still has its original, matching numbers engine, which is a big plus for collectors and purists. The mechanical reliability of the V8 engine, in combination with the utmost care given to the restoration, ensures that this classic is not only in top shape aesthetically, but also continues to perform excellently technically.

What makes this example extra special is that it is equipped with the steering wheel on the left. Only a small percentage of Daimler V8 250s were delivered this way, making the model rare and particularly attractive to collectors outside the UK. For enthusiasts in Europe and beyond, this is a particularly valuable feature, as many classic British cars of the era were usually produced with right-hand drive.

This vehicle offers the perfect blend of rarity, historical value and impeccable restoration. If you are looking for a classic car that can not only be a wonderful addition to a collection, but is also suitable for regular driving, then this Daimler V8 250 is the ideal choice. The car exudes character and elegance, but also offers the powerful performance of the legendary V8 engine, making every drive a pleasurable experience.
