Ebay item 11/12/14 www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-Other-4-door-Jaguar-MK2-1967-4-Speed-Arson-Victim-Sad-St ...
Current bid US $4,749, no reserve, 17 bids 6 days left in auction. 4k miles.
Sellers description:
What a shame. This MK2 was somebody's excellent driver or survivor / show car when an arsonist, for some unknown reason, set fire to the rear seat cushion. The fire went out ( due to lack of oxygen ) when the doors were shut. However the rear seat, headliner and right hand rear door panel were destroyed. The backs of the front seats were heat damaged and there is smoke discoloration in other areas of the interior. Some of the paint was blistered on the roof and door as well.
This car is totally rust free ( being from California ) and straight as an arrow. There are no dents or rust. The paint is a very good older re-spray. The left hand front fender may have been repaired at one time since some of the paint on top is checkered. None of the exterior rubber, chrome or glass shows any overspray. The chrome wire wheels have 75% on better Michelin red line tires.
We bought this car in late August 1993 from Sacramento salvage auction. It had been in California its whole life as indicated by J67 in front of the VIN # P181277. We stored it inside and only last month got it running again. We installed a new battery, fuel pump and brake master cylinder. We also rebuilt the clutch master and put in a new slave cylinder. The car runs and moves under its own power. However, the flexible sections of the exhaust down pipes leak and the front brake calipers seem to stick.
This is still a nice engine number matching MK2 which could be restored and does not need a total rebuild. The car needs brake and exhaust work but most other mechanical systems seem to work including gauges and switches. It will drive onto a transport truck.
We are a licensed Washington State Auto Dismantler. The buyer of this car will receive an Auto Wreckers Bill of Sale.

A friend bought this car, saw it yesterday. Nice original machine from what I could see, shame someone tried to light it on fire. No rust and seems to be wearing its original paint, or certainly the original color.

Lovely article - one of the best things I've recently read, and by far the most useful. Now we know all pros and cons of the form. I just filled out a form with an online software. It looked much better typed than hand-written. I used goo.gl/Ms4ebj and it's very easy to use.

3.4L Twin Cam Inline-Six

This 1967 Jaguar Mk 2 is powered by a 3.4L inline-six paired to a 4-speed manual gearbox. This example has been with the seller for about two years and is driven several times per week. The car is nicely mechanically sorted and has been fitted with GAZ adjustable gas shocks and a new red leather interior. The seller estimates the paintwork to be about half original, and this Jaguar retains strong cosmetics apart from a small amount of isolated rust just aft of the passenger-side rear wheel. The car benefits from new wire wheels, fuel pump, coolant hoses, water pump, windshield, and some body seals. It is sold with a clean Washington title in the seller's name.
This Jaguar retains about half of its original paint with some cracking near the grille and on the driver-side front fender. The seller had the doors repainted due to paint damage from the scorched interior. Overall the driver-quality finish has a good shine and appears uniform in photos. The knock-off wire wheels are new and wear fresh tires. The windshield and its seal are also new, as are the door and trunk seals.
Trim and lighting are complete and original. Much of the brightwork appears to be in very good condition, including the bumpers, grille bars, and headlight rings. The rockers appear clean and straight, with intact paintwork on this often sensitive area. Some minor rust is present just aft of the passenger-side rear wheel as seen above.
Originally equipped with Black Ambla vinyl, the seller had the interior fully redone to a high standard with red leather and carpets following an interior fire caused by arson. The upholstery appears well fitted, with straight piping and patterns very close to the originals. The color change is complete, and includes the angular center console. Modern retractable seatbelts are fitted for front seat passengers, and static belts are fitted in the rear.
The dash and upper door panel wood does not appear to have been refinished, but carries a nice patina with a uniform finish throughout. The instrumentation is stock, and the interior is unmodified from its stock layout apart from a pair of speakers added in the kick panels. All of the gauges work, though the speedometer reads slightly slow. A spare speedometer is included with the sale. The 6,500 indicated miles are not accurate.
The trunk is very tidy, with a clean black trunk liner and intact painted surfaces. The rubber trunk seal has been replaced.
The 3.4L twin cam inline-six is said to be original and is backed by a 4-speed manual gearbox. The seller performed numerous services in the last several months, and has been using the car 2-3 times per week to the tune of a few thousand miles. Recent services include the following:
All new fluids
All new brake calipers and master cylinder
New water pump and drive belt
New coolant hoses
New SU fuel pump
GAZ adjustable shocks at all four corners
Rebuilt front end
The underside appears straight, and apart from some apparent leaking at the differential seal undercarriage surfaces are clean and dry. The stainless steel exhaust is about a year old.
The seller has provided a Jaguar Heritage Certificate which verifies that the car remains in its original configuration. The seller has visually verified that the engine number is correct to the Jaguar Heritage Certificate.
