Ebay item 5/20/09 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-Mark-II-Jaguar-1967-Mark-II-4-Speed-with-Overdriv ...
Current bid $2,025 reserve not met, 2 bids 9 days left in auction. Buy it now price $48,000.
Sellers description:
I am selling my late, matching number Mark II that I have owned for over 20 years. I bought the car from a gentleman in southern California when I was out there for a visit. This is one of the last Mark II's made before the change over to the 340. I had the car shipped back to Massachusetts and realized when I got it home all the rubber was dried out and the interior was pretty well shot. So needles to say I took all the glass, the interior, the engine, gear box, rear end, front end out of the car and stripped it down to bare metal. I then began the process of restoring it from there. Since the car was from California there was no rust. I have the before pictures as well as after pictures. I had the car painted back to it's original color Warwick Grey and made sure the engine bay, the trunk and the door jambs were all correctly painted. The paint is gorgeous on the car. The original color of the interior was black and I had the seats re-upholstered in Connolly Hide. I had a new headliner installed, new carpets installed, had the wood redone, all the guages were sent to be callibrated and all the small bits were replaced. The interior is all new, even the center glove box has been redone. The interior door handles are correctly installed as well. The car comes with some factory options, such as the Henleys center console, rear heated window, oversized radiator, factory seat belts with the wings, AM Jaguar radio, factory fog lamps, synchro mesh gear box with electric overdrive, upgraded 2" SU carbuertors and a Thornton Power-Lok differential.
The front end of the car has been disassembled and had new bushings, new bearings, new shocks, new springs, upper and lower ball joints. It does not pull to one side even you put your foot on the brake. The power steering unit has been rebuilt, the rear end and the leaf springs have been disassembled and rebuilt with all new bearings cleaned and repainted. The fuel tank has been cleaned and painted. The underneath looks as good as the top.
The engine is a 3.4 liter. The car has the original 37,000 miles on it. The engine had been rebuilt when I bought it and the oil is so clean you can't see it on the dip stick. I have changed the oil and filter every 500 to 1000 miles. The engine has excellent compression, good oil pressure and there is no head tapping or chain slapping noise. It runs cool even in traffic. All the cam covers have been polished and the exhaust manifold porcelain is like new. All the correct clamps have been put on the car. There is nothing after market it on it. The car still has a positive ground battery. I put on a stainless steel exhaust, I installed new Dayton wire wheels with the Dunlop Sport Tires with the high VR rating. The car has a full tool kit and hammer. All the brakes are new through out the car. The chrome on the car is in super nice condition. I had the front bumper rechromed the rest is original. All the door gaskets are new. All the doors, windows, boot and bonnet shut smoothly. The car comes with a custom made car cover which is kept on it even in my heated garage.
I do have a Jaguar Heritage Certificate for the car as well. I have won several concourses with it. It is in the 98-99 point category. If I do not sell the car I will be entering it at the anual JANE Councourse. The car is currently registered and insured. I have clear Mass. title in my name. The only thing this car needs is a new owner and driver.
