Ebay item 5/3/19
www.ebay.com/itm/1967-Jaguar-420G/303141227669
Current bid: $1,025 reserve not met 3 bids 8 days left in auction, seller 4142bev, 29k miles.
Seller's description;
1967 Jaguar 420G. I have a clear title in mind name and the original key for my Jaguar. The reserve price on the Jag is well under the value of a 1967 Jaguar 420G. I have too many projects and need to sell this complete, almost rust free rare Jaguar. I bought this Jag with the intentions of restoring it, but I have too many British car projects, and can't afford to do all of them. This Jaguar was an award winning car at a several Jaguar events. The trophies, as well as an original Jaguar 420G/Mark Ten repair manual come with the sale of the car. It also comes with an original showroom brochure. I want the new owner to know exactly what they are getting. With this in mind, I will detail the pros and cons of my Jag.
On the positive side: The Jaguar is very complete. It has its original 4.2 litre 265 Horse Power engine transmission and rear-end.There is very little rust, and the doors, hood, and trunk align properly. The body work needed is primarily paint. The glass is good, and the interior is in very good, original, condition. Again, please look closely at all of the photos. I hooked up a battery, and the engine turns over easily. With the triple carburetors, rebuilt, the Jaguar will fire up and run.
On the negative side: 1. The Jag has been sitting, in covered storage for several years. The previous owner hired a mechanic to rebuild the carburetors. After the carburetors were dismantled, the British mechanic was deported, and the Jag sat with the carburetor dashpots removed for several months. All of the carburetor parts, including the original air-cleaner come with the car. 2. There are rust bubbles on the passenger's side by the rear fender. This is only rust issue I could find. The floors are in good shape. As I mentioned the original paint needs to be repainted. 3. The original leather interior is in very good condition. The seats show wear, but are not torn or have split seams. 4. The Jaguar wood is delaminating and will need work to be show quality. 5. The trunk key comes with the car, but I have not been able to get the trunk opened. I have no idea what is in the trunk. I have been able to get the trunk key to turn slightly, but not enough to engage the lock. 6. The interior dome lights and bezels are in the glovebox.
