Ebay item 5/14/10
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-420G-Jaguar-420G-/140407489046
Current bid $3,000 reserve not met, 10 bids 5 days left in auction. 76k miles.

Sellers description:
Magnificant midnight blue with blue leather interior makes this 1967 420 Jaguar 4.2 liter engine with 76,432 miles a desirable find. Everything works includiong the cold blowing A/C. The entire front end and brakes system was done approx. 4 years ago. Recently, 3 new jack points were installed and other minor underneath rust issues were professionaly replaced and welded correctly.

I am the 4 th owner and this is the first jaguar I ever owned. I have it for almost 5 years. This car comes with all original paperwork, manuals, Dealership invoice including the original license plate from England. I contacted the original owner and she informed me that she and her husband pick up the vehicle at the Dealership in England and crused throughout Europe during the summer of 1967 before having it shipped back to the US. She send me the original License plate. I have a complete list of all repairs that I have had done.

This jaguar is a prevoius show winner as a previous owner owned a body shop which this car became his project to restore. The original color was a light blue but show no signs of that except under the trunk floor mat.

There a few minor paint touch ups/chips: lower right pasenger fender; drivers side rear wheel well. Drivers door and a few clips here and there but only minor. There is some cracking/fading in the upper driver side seat and the middle arm rests otherwise the leather is good.

The vehicle is mechanically sound as I have used it approx. 2/3 times a week. I encourage a personal inspection and/or an authorized repair station for a complete inspection prior to purchase.
VIN # G1D77117BW. LHD.

Car has a buy it now price of $25,000 for 12 days. Now said to be in Middletown, New Jersey.

Sellers description:
1967 420 G
This is a very nice rust free example. The car was repainted about twenty years ago and still has the original interior. It is currently owned and maintained by a Jaguar restorer/mechanic. This is not a 100 point show car but a very nice reliable driver that is still show worthy and can be driven with confidence and reliability.

Some of the recent work includes new: tires, plugs, wires, petronix ignition, correct wiring harness, brakes(pads & rotors), master cylinder, rebuilt front suspension, battery exhaust, NOS grill, trans service, oil change and grease.

Included are the books shown in the pictures, historical documentation and additional spare parts.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
