Presented in a stunning light metallic blue with West of England leather trim and burr walnut capping, instrument panel and picnic tables, this is one of the best examples of the 420 or Mk. X we have had the opportunity to offer. Details from the FHVC state that the car was fully restored to a very high standard in the mid to late 1990’s, declaring at the time, that the condition is exceptional and ‘easily a top class show winning car’. Upon inspection, the doors shut without the need of slamming, the large body panels are certainly impressive and the trim feels as new sitting on high quality Wilton carpets. The underside of this example is equally impressive, as the photos will testify and as any 420 G should the car wafts along swiftly, smoothly and quietly. One can well imagine the attraction for the infamous London gangster scene for which the Mk. X and 420 G were famed along with many wealthy business owners of the 60’s. Within the history file and coupled with older MoT test certificates there are details from Malton Coachworks in Malton, North Yorkshire who have recently recommissioned the vehicle with invoices, including a new exhaust system, new brake discs and pads and all fluids as well as servicing and attending to the replacements of any perishable suspension components. A car that has clearly had many thousands lavished upon it, stunning chrome work and a colour combination that suits such an imposing car, we would challenge you to find one as good as this and certainly should not be confused with some of the less well-maintained cars on the market which could not frankly lace this one’s boots!
