THE CAR IS SOLID WITHOUT ANY RUST WOULD JUST NEED TO HAVE A PAINT JOB TO MAKE A GREAT COLLECTORS PIECE. ALL OF THE CHROME IS SOLID AND IN PLACE. THE CAR WOULD BE A GREAT PROJECT FOR SOMEBODY LOOKING FOR A RESTORATION THIS WINTER.

Current bid $1,500, no reserve, 13 bids 3 days left in auction. Car now said to be in Pennsylvania. 72k miles.
Sellers description:
Excellent project for the upcoming winter. I have not have the time to do it, with too many other projects and too little patience to wait. It seems a shame to let a fine example of the Grand Saloon sit idle any longer.
Body and interior are very good and original. Interior woodwork needs refinishing (not replacing). Very good leather seats. Carpet is original. Trunk liner should be replaced as the leather has dried out too much to restore. But there is a complete and original tool kit (very rare), and many spare parts to aid in restoration. The dash and picnic tables are good. The gauges, switches, chrome, and such are in very good condition. Exterior is fine. The clear coat is coming off--but needs to come off. (I am of the opinion, based on my research into the matter, it can be removed without removing the paint--a good thing--although this is a matter of some debate.)
The car is in fine condition (minor rust spot under the passenger seat/left side and along the base of the right rear door). the electrical system in order. Until the recent incident, it ran great. The biggest issue would be your decision regarding the engine. A piston blew (shattered), but caused no irrepairable to the engine onthe whole. The engine can be repaired if you have the time, space and money (I have run out of time and space). It can be replaced if you check with your local Jaguar junkie community (I found an engine fairly easily, but time is another matter). Or you can send it to a fine shop in Georgia for a complete engine rebuild. The choice is yours. I suggest you do that research in your locale; any contacts I have are loca to me and may be of little use to you.
This is an fine car in need of a caring new owner. Once it's had the engine repair, and the mostly cosmetic work complete, it'll be a real head-turner.
