Ebay item 2/11/16 www.ebay.com/itm/111901519696
Current bid US $16,000, no reserve, 1 bid 6 days left in auction. Seller haboochihuckaby, 93k miles.
Sellers description:
I have owned this car since 2005. I purchased it from the second owner who had owned it since 1968. The car spent its entire life in northern California prior to my purchase. The original owner lived in Atherton and he actually bought this car in London, England. He then drove it around continental Europe and had it shipped back to the United States. The care of each subsequent owner has been outstanding. It may be one of best preserved examples of a Jaguar MK IX available today. It's by no means a show car, but to a collector with an eye toward originality, it really is unique. The paint, the chrome, the leather, wood, carpets and headliner are all original and in very fine and respectable condition for being 55 years old. Even the original World Radio functions! The tool kits are nearly 100% complete. Mechanically, the car has been very well maintained and I have every bit of service history going back to 1968! Recently, the front suspension underwent a rebuild with new shocks and poly bushings. New rear shocks and springs as well. Brakes were overhauled a year ago along with power steering pump to the tune of $4200 in cost. The car performs very, very well, cruising at 85 mph with no problems. And it stops on all four disc brakes like it should. There is virtually no rust other than very minor surface rust on the trunk floor pan. All numbers match. Engine, head, transmission. No modifications other than the original owner chromed several components in the engine. These include the air-filter housing, heater box, power steering top, and fuse box cover. My mechanic has serviced this car since 2005. These guys do restorations in the 99-100pt. range and have been shown at Pebble Beach and Cranbrook. Since 2005, I have rebuilt and replaced the timing chains, new seals and reserved master cylinder, replaced original fuel pumps with replicas that are electronic but look OEM. It has been regularly tuned and serviced. Cooling system and all pumps and hoses are in fine condition.
