Ebay item 3/29/10 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-Mk9-1961-Jaguar-Mk-9-solid-rust-free-project-much ...
Current bid $1,500 reserve not met, 1 bid 6 days left in auction. Note seller provided a VIN of F93912BW, corrections welcome.
Sellers description:
The car is located in Bellevue Washington and has been in inside storage in a shop in Seattle (Shadowflight Restorations) since he got it some 20 or so years ago... to the best of his knowledge the car is pretty close to if not complete... But be advised the car is sold in AS IS Where Is condition... No guarantee of absolute completeness. The engine was rebuilt years ago and has never run... the brakes were also gone through but never had fluid in them... The leather work is stunning and the wood is for the most part very good but not restored... There is NO Rust on the vehicle and for the most part its extremely straight except for very minor dents and dings... the majority of the chrome including the bumpers and grille parts are still wrapped up in the paper from when they were re-chromed... The engine was turned over just last week by hand and is free... I must once again stress that the car has been indoors since it's purchase from Northern California, Bay area, Marin County... please take note, He is a superb body and paint man but not a mechanic... Again I must stress also this is albeit a fine project car, it is just that, the car does not at this time run or drive...
This is a California car that was purchased for my mother in 1986. The mechanicals were all done by the local Jaguar gurus, the Gerard's, at Paladin Auto works. The engine was completely re-done, and components that would make it more livable in the real world were installed. It has a GM power steering pump, as well as a negative ground alternator installed. The automatic transmission was gone through by Eastside Transmission. The rear-end was inspected, and found to be sound. The bushings on the underside were either replaced or judged to be in good shape. There are new Spax Adjustable Shocks that have been attached at the top mounting points, but never expanded or completely installed. The interior was done by a fellow who consistently does "Pebble Beach" quality upholstery using the appropriate Wilton wool and Connolly hides. The chrome was all re-plated and is still rapped in the paper from the chrome shop. The wood work is also still in the paper, and is said to be the best set of wood that was original to the car. It may need to be addressed, but it should be in relatively good shape. The engine compartment and trunk have been repainted "New British Racing Green" and any issues in those areas were dealt with at that time. All this work was done by professionals, but 20 years ago. The car needs to be painted and re-assembled.
