Ebay item 12/12/11
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Rare-Mark-IX-Classic-Hot-Rod-brand-new-V8-700R4-Barn-fin ...
Opening bid $2,500 reserve not met, no bids yet 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
Today's Mark IX's are very rare with rust and mechanical problems plaguing the brand. Fast forward 51 years and what you have here today is a time capsule preserved and ready to go. The mechanical woes are now gone with a new crate 350 small block Chevrolet with 700 R4 automatic transmission, custom aluminum radiator, power steering, and power disc brakes. The car was repainted and has had over $10,000 spent on upgrades and ran quite well just prior to being put into storage. The body, chrome and wood are also in good condition. Some minor restorations will make this car the envy of car enthusiasts.

Oh what a dreadful shame. A quite nice looking mark IX completely wrecked by that heap of junk under the bonnet

High bid ( of 12 ) was only US $ 4450 . This is a clear and sad illustration of what happens to cars which are butchered

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
