The 1960 Jaguar MK IX Saloon Automatic is a luxurious and iconic British car produced between 1959 and 1961. This model represented the top end of Jaguar's Mark series and was popular with both elite and government officials.
The Jaguar MK IX was powered by a powerful 3.8-liter six-cylinder in-line engine, the same engine that would also be used in the famous Jaguar E-type. This engine produced about 220 horsepower, giving the car an impressive performance for its time. The model came standard with an automatic transmission, which contributed to its comfortable and luxurious driving feel.
One of the remarkable features of the MK IX was its refined suspension system, including independent front suspension and a live rear axle that offered excellent handling, even on the rougher roads of the time. The exterior of the car featured elegant lines, a prominent grille and dual headlights, which was typical of luxury cars of the period.
On the inside, the Jaguar MK IX was lavishly equipped with leather upholstery, wood veneer finishes and spacious seats, which emphasized the comfort and luxury expected of a Jaguar. It was also one of the first cars to come standard with disc brakes on all four wheels, significantly improving safety.
This Jaguar MK IX, with its grand size and two tone paint, is a special appearance. It is equipped with an automatic transmission and is in drivable condition. It comes directly from California and is in beautiful and original condition. It also has a sunroof, disc brakes all around and is finished with many unique details and beautiful wood accents.
