Current bid $2,500, no reserve, 1 bid 6 day s left in auction.

Sellers description:
1960 Jaguar MK IX Saloon (Mark 9 Sedan). Car appears to have been original two tone black over imperial maroon with red leather interior. It has black vinyl interior now but from the research I've done, black was not offered. However red leather was and I have found red carpet and accents in various places in the car. It has has the original DOHC I6 engine and 3 spd transmission. I don't have access to all the Jaguar decoding to verify everything. I do know that the BW in the VIN means it does NOT have the optional overdrive transmission. However, you can send off to Jaguar or the Jaguar Club of North America (JCNA) for a Heritage Certificate detailing everything.

The car needs total restoration but would be beautiful when finished. I have included some pics of a finished car in the pics to give an idea of the beauty of this car.

The body on this car is in great condition. There is a small dent in the drivers door and one on the passenger rear roof shown in the pics where the paint has come off. There is also some rust through the rockers in front of each rear tire also shown in the pics. That's about it.

The hood and trunk lid are good and straight and not rusted out.

All of the glass is good.

The frame is solid and the wheel wells look good with no holes. No rust in the engine bay either.

The floors in the car are pretty rough. It will need new floor pans and a new trunk pan.

All of the burl walnut wood trim and dash will have to be redone using the old stuff and pics as a guide.

The stainless window trim is all there and straight. Just needs to be polished. The other chrome accents are all there and just need to be rechromed or polished.

The bumpers are there and good. The front one will need to have some cracks welded (see pics) and both will need to be rechromed.

I have a TN title for the car. It will also come with a bill of sale.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
