Ebay item 6/9/15
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-Other-Mark-IX-/291487270371
Current bid US $13,701 reserve not met 7 bids 9 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
From our private collection here in Mobile, Alabama is this Very Nice 1959 Jaguar Mark IX 4 Dr Saloon that is priced correctly in todays market.

This is a show car that you can drive and enjoy. I will sell this car for $26,500.00 in U.S. dollars ( U.S. currency for out of the country buyers). I can change this auction and put a Buy-It-Now here if you decide.

Body and interior has been restored to original specifications.

This car has a complete Jaguar Drivetrain and not a Chevy conversion that de-values the car, just my opinion!

I do not have any extra photos of this car sorry. The bottom is clean. Frame is very solid, just surface scale. What parts were rusty have been replaced with new metal. All chrome and stainless is very nice. Power Steering and Power Brakes. Equipped with the Rare Automatic Transmission with the overdrive. This one does have the factory sunroof also. We have spent lots of money to make this car drive as it should.

Please come and inspect this car if you can. I am located 3 minutes from the Mobile, Alabama Regional Airport ( MOB ) and will be glad to pick you up, let you look, and take you back.

Please remember this car is 59 years old, it is not perfect, for this money its a heck of a buy! Sold as Is. This Jaguar Mark IX is registered in our company name with a current Alabama Tag. We own this car free and clear.

1959 JAGUAR MARK IX

VIN 791882BW

Exterior Color BLACK/SILVER Interior RED Transmission AUTOMATIC

Lot #341.2 - Complete ground-up restoration done in 2007. Rare left hand drive, refinished in its correct color combination of Onyx Black and silver with red leather interior trim. Equipped with every available option, even the very rare sliding roof and rear seat picnic tables. Since 1950, Jaguar had been building large, separate chassis saloon cars, starting with the Mk VII. In 1959 the final derivative arrived, the Jaguar Mk IX. The Mk IX utilized the famous XK engine which had evolved into a powerful 220bhp 3.8L unit, enough to haul this large saloon car up to a top speed of 117mph. The Mk IX had a body identical to that used on the previous Mk VIII, although it did have an improved heater and a new badge to distinguish it. This handsome saloon came with power steering, all-round disc brakes and a choice of manual or automatic transmission. At the time the Mk IX was considered on par with the then current Bentley S-type, even though it was a third of the price. **TITLED AS A 1958**

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
