Ebay item 11/15/08

Current bid $1,136 reserve not met, 15 bids, 6 days left in auction. 56k miles.

Sellers description:
This 1960 Jaguar I brought from the Karl Hardman Estate who was the producer and star of the 1968 movie The Night of the Living Dead. He played Harry with his wife and daugher that was in the basement. His personal plate is still on the car but it does not come with the car. It is available for a seperate price. The car is in very good and solid running condition and here are the details. The body has a few scratches and small dings and a couple small surface rust areas. Underneath the right fender is a small rust area. The paint and rest of the car seems to be origional. I also have 2 N.O.S. fender skirts. There are other miscelaneous parts in the trunk of the car. The interior is not beat or torn up but is old considering the age of the car. The interior wood is beautiful. Use as is or restore as you like. Also includes a very rare sunroof. They only made this car for 3 years.

Current bid $4,050 teserve not met, 11 bids 5 days left in auction. Car now said to be located in Girard, Ohio. 59k miles.

Sellers description:
Up for auction is an original 1960 Jaguar MK IX

This car is black with tan interior. The tan leather is in good condition; mostly soft, there are no rips or rot. The leather would benefit from a through cleaning. The burled walnut dash is in very good condition. There are a few small spots on the door wood that could use retouching, but nothing more than that. The headliner needs a good cleaning and probably would need to be replaced along with the carpets. This car is relatively rust free; lets not forget this car is 50 years old. I believe the paint to be original and is presentable but definately would benefit from touch-up and buffing. On a scale of 1-10, I would give it a 5/6.

Mechanically the car is sound. The engine starts easily, generates good oil pressure and runs well with no smoke. The disc brakes stops the car well. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly and the intermediate speed hold works. I have driven this car very little, but have notice a few drops of coolant on the drive after running. I contribute this to the lower coolant hose. I have owned this car a little over a year and have driven it only about 20 miles. The more it run, the smoother it gets. Please note, this car is right hand drive.

There is a sunroof it does operate. There are no manuals or tool kit. I believe there is a jack and spare rim (not sure about the tire) It doesn't smoke or make noise. Engine sounds good.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
