Auction description:
Body colour: Green
Date Manufactured: 1958
Registration Number: VUL 887
Chassis Number: 764370BW
Engine Number: NA2935-8
Engine: cc: 3442
History:
First registered in August 1958, this particular car is unusual in that it has separate front bucket seats instead of the bench seat normally fitted to cars with automatic transmission. Said to be in fair condition bodily with a sound chassis and nice original interior, it comes with a large history file from 1970 onwards including a long run of old MOTs right up until 1992 when it was put into storage.
In the current ownership for the last 16 years, the car was recommissioned in 2006 and has been regularly driven since. Recommissioning work included a full brake system overhaul with new wheel cylinders front and rear, new master cylinder, new brake linings, hoses and pipes. The fuelling system was also thoroughly overhauled with refurbished tanks, new hoses and rebuilt carbs, and a new part exhaust system also fitted.
The car is said to drive well and the vendor believes the indicated mileage of 56,000 to be correct, although there is insufficient history to verify this. It comes with a Heritage Certificate and is taxed until August 2008 and MOT'd until May 2008. Roadworthy MkVIII Jaguars are now very scarce and, at the relatively modest guide price suggested today, this example would appear to be worthy of closer examination.
Guide price 5,800
