Ebay item 1/17/13

cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1958-Jaguar-Mark-VIII-salon-RHD-/150981230584

Opening bid $5,000, no reserve no bids 6 days left in auction. Buy it now price $10,500. 30k miles, location Stanton, California.

Sellers description:

1958 Jaguar MK8 Saloon RHD

This Jaguar was my fathers third complete restoration but wasn't finished upon his passing.

I don't know very much about the vehicle except that it has been recently painted and the bodywork was completed.

It comes with two engines, both of which I'm not sure of the status.

All the parts have been restored and all fasteners were bagged and labeled as the vehicle was being taken apart to speed the assembly process.

I'm sure that my father would have wanted someone to love this Mark 8 as much as he did. I know little about cars and need to let it go.

The car has clear California title.

this is a 50+ year old vehicle still with many original parts.

The Warwickshire Collection - This car has formed part of an extensive collection of British and European Classics and your inspection is encouraged.

In recent years, this car has formed part of a large collection and has received little or no use, so an element of recommissioning is to be expected. Some of these cars do start, run and drive. Each car has a condition report, however they are all sold as seen

Presented in Emerald Green over silver with an Ox Blood leather interior

Listed as having a 3.8-litre engine (When new would have been 3.4-litres). Manual gearbox

Appears to have been partially restored in the past

Interior looks as though it has had the benefit of retrimmed seats and the carpet looks fairly fresh

Showing some 30,675 miles but, sadly, no history

The engine bay is partially stripped. Some trim components in the boot

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
