Sellers description:

Price: £42,000 (approx €49,031 euros)

1958 Jaguar Mark VIII 3.5 litre Auto.
Chassis number: 763060BW
Engine number: NA1361-8
Registration number YAT500
28,000 miles from new & quite simply the best we have ever seen. This is a time warp car with just three previous owners, the last two of whom were serious jaguar enthusiasts. The first owner bought the car & used it for just 5 years before dry storing it in a well ventilated grain storage mill; there it remained until 1987 when upon his death it was sold to the second owner.

The car is in immaculate condition, the condition being difficult to describe as one runs out of superlatives. The car is totally & utterly corrosion free with not a speck of rust to be seen on it. This is true of the underside as well as of the engine bay & body. Finished in period colours of Cornish Grey over Mist Grey the car looks stunning accented by the chrome detail work.

The interior is unmarked blue leather with matching blue carpets. Original burr walnut adorns the interior details extending to the rear picnic tables. As of today the speedometer was showing 28,503 miles. The car comes with a thick dossier of bills, mostly for minor perishable rubber items etc which have over time been replaced as required to keep the car in tip top condition.

You really have to drive the car to appreciate the quality of it. The six cylinder twin cam fires up instantly & sounds sporty with its typically Jaguar fruity exhaust note. The gear box is a paragon of smoothness with seamless up changes & instant easy kick down when required. Quite fast, the car runs well on the motorway in modern traffic easily maintaining station whilst on the motorway. Steering is taut & precise; Suspension supple & cosseting. Having just driven the car 50 or so miles back to back with a Bentley S2, the Jaguar I found infinitely more charming, rare & pleasing to drive.

The car is in stock with us now & needs nothing more then to be driven. I must stress that you cannot really appreciate this car unless you come to see it & drive it. To be the best in the world is a bold claim, but we certainly have seen nothing approaching its condition & low mileage.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
