Car to be at auction 7/17

Auction description:
Registration Date 1957
Make & Model Jaguar MkVIII Saloon
Colour Ivory over Beige
Registration Number 940 DRV
Chassis No. 762514BW
Engine size 3,442 cc
Engine No. N97468
Documents V5C; old style V5C; sundry invoices and old MOTs
Estimate £17,500 - £19,500
First registered in Portsmouth in December 1957, this MkVIII Automatic has always been in regular light use, 14 old MOTs on file showing that it has covered some 21,200 miles since 1995, being mainly used as a wedding car for the last few years.
Equipped with all the usual MkVIII luxuries such as rear picnic tables and a sunroof, it also has the desirable option of power steering which means you don't need to be a regular at the gym in order to park the beast or pilot it around town. A new stainless steel exhaust system has also been recently fitted.
Said to start, run and drive well, it recently completed a 400-mile round trip from the Midlands to the North West on a Jaguar club outing without missing a beat, and is due to be driven some 40 miles to the sale.
A rare and handsome machine which oozes 'grace, space and pace', it is still more than capable of keeping up with modern traffic and could doubtless pay for its upkeep as a wedding car should the fortunate new owner feel so inclined. The icing on the cake is the original and transferable number plate, 940 DRV, which has a value of its own.
