Ebay item 7/5/11
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-Mark-VII-/150627221878
Opening bid $15,000 reserve not met, no bids yet 4 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1955 JAGUAR 3.4 Liter Model Mark VII M Saloon Car.

3.4-4sp-wO frame up by all Jaguar shop history & invoices.

This automobile has been restored as near original new status as feasible. Local "Jaguar Only" shop did all of the restoration work. History and documentation very complete. The restoration process took over 5 years. All mileage shows on the odometer, now 62,800 miles.

This cars original major, and minor parts were used in the restoration process. Some of the original parts include items as innocuous as the Jack, complete left and right door tool kits, virtually every part of the original car has been used in the restoration. Parts such as engine wear components: rings, bushings, bearings, gaskets, seals, and weathered items like wiring harnesses, rubber seals, rubber hoses, belts, virtually all mechanical components have been either replaced or restored to a near new status.

Current bid $10,365 reserve not met, 7 bids 4 days left in auction. Car still in Colorado.

Sellers description:
1955 Jaguar Mark VII M Saloon Car, British Cream (White) with new Red leather interior, and refinished interior woodwork. Completely rebuilt and dyno run-in 3.4-liter engine with 4-speed manual transmission, with overdrive. Features include: sunroof, individual adjustable front seats, tachometer, inside hood release, chrome bumpers, fog lights, and a vintage Motorola tube type radio.

This is a One Family Car, purchased new in New York City its port of entry. The car was driven to Denver Colorado and has lived here ever since! Carefully driven and well maintained for several years, until the mid 1960's. With approximately 59,000 miles, and no damage history, the car was then relegated to an outside carport and blocks for several years. The original exterior color, a gunmetal dark gray / green was changed to British Cream (White) during a recent professionally done complete strip down frame up restoration. All body paint was removed, metal sanded, prepped, painted, and polished. This automobile has been restored to, as close to its original new status as possible. If you will, the clock turned back in time. This car is as British as they come, including all original shop manuals, sales brochures, and sales delivery receipts. A local "Jaguars Only Shop" did all of the Restoration work. Itemized restoration receipts come with this car.

Vehicle Condition:
This Jaguar 3.4 Liter Model Mark VII M Saloon Car has been restored to as close to original, like new as possible. The restoration process took over 5 years. All mileage shows on the odometer, and is now slightly over 62,000 (62,511) miles. All of this cars original major, and minor parts were used in the restoration process. All of the original parts include items as innocuous as the Jack, complete left and right door kit tools, kit spare parts, virtually every part possible of the original car has been used in this restoration. Of course parts such as engine wear components: rings, bushings, bearings, gaskets, seals, and weathered items like wiring harnesses, rubber seals, rubber hoses, belts, virtually all mechanical components have been either replaced or restored to a near new status. Even the steering wheel was restored, and is like new! Interior woodwork is refinished to an almost perfect condition. Glove box interiors are lined with new green felt. All interior carpeting, upholstery trim, seat covering, headliner, virtually the complete interior, has been replaced with new Jaguar specific replacement parts. All chrome parts were either re-plated or polished to like new brilliance. There is no rust or salt-water damage, the car has been in Colorado since new. This automobile is as road worthy as any Jaguar of this vintage and state of restoration could be. The only original component missing is the window washer system, and that's because we can't find the original glass reservoir and pump motor. We have yet to find an exact replacement part. This car starts and runs similar to how it did when new. Actually the brakes seem to be in better operating condition, "we haven't had to bleed them since the restoration was completed. Starting this car after sitting for extended periods of time, and or when cold takes the same attention any vintage SU carburetor equipped Jaguar would. Our restoration expert installed a manual override switch to control the starting Carburetor, which seems to help with cold starts. This car purrs like the "Kat" when it warms up!

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
