Car returns to ebay 7/9/08
cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid C $1,950 reserve not met, 4 bids, 9 days left in auction. Car now located in Port Hope, Ontario.
Sellers description:
An original Canadian car, built in the Jaguar factory at Brown's Lane, Coventry, on April 28th 1952, and dispatched to the original distributor in Vancouver, BC, THOMAS PLIMLEY, on May 30th 1952.
According to Jaguar production figures, and the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust in the UK, there were only 96 such cars, destined for Canada, in that model year.
This particular car, has been well cared for throughout it's life, and shows approximately 75,000 MILES on the odometer, which in my opinion, I believe to be correct.
The leather interior is original, and in fantastic condition considering it's age,(there is a split in the driver's upper 'horseshoe'), the carpets are modern Wilton, in the original colour, and the door cards have been re-covered in incorrect vinyl, but professionally. Headliner is original, as are the sunvisors and the woodwork is amazing. The overall patina of the car is endearing to the true Jaguar collector, and is a joy to behold. The car received a full body repaint in the last 10 or so years, in a very good British Racing Green, which, correctly, is almost black in appearance.
Mechanically, the car is in good, running, driving condition, with brakes behaving as they should, and the gear change is smooth, if you are used to the MOSS gearbox, and it's non-synchro 1st gear.
The chassis is solid and shows NO signs of rust, there are areas of bodywork, that have received attention over the years, naturally enough, for a 56 year old Jaguar! As was the case back in the day, some of these areas, might leave something to be desired in today's classic car restorer's eyes, but please let's not lose the fact that 30-40 years ago, this was, "just another old car".
Today this car's rarity, is fully borne out, by the agreed valuation for insurance purposes, as is it's better than average condition. The valuation is CAD$35,000.00 which shows the car in comparison to other cars reviewed by the valuer. This valuation was carried out in January of 2008, and will be passed on to the new owner with all spares,(many are period to the car, collected by the original owner), and handbook. Sadly, the toolkit is bare, but the tool boxes that fit into the front door cavities, are present.
The car could certainly benefit from some sympathetic, "fettling", over the next little while, but in my opinion, can be enjoyed whilst the new owner does this, and treated as a, "rolling restoration", meaning you can drive the car and tinker while you enjoy it.
Personally, I think it would be a great shame, to lose this car's well earned patination, by doing a full body off restoration, but sadly, I have to sell it, and the new owner will be able to do what he or she wants to make the car their own.

Car returns to ebay 11/12/13
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-Other-Mark-VII-NO-RESERVE-Great-Restoration-Candidate-nu ...
Opening bid $3,000, no reserve, no bids 6 days left in auction. Car now said to be in Culpeper, Virginia. 75K miles.
Sellers description:
We aquired this Mark 7 in 2008 for a planned restoration that was not performed.
The car was running when we purchased it but it is currently not running. It has sat for 5 years so we won't even try to start it now.
We have a photocopy of the Jaguar Heritage certificate that shows the components are numbers matching. The car left the factory with exterior paint and interior trim in Suede Green.
It has a 3.4 liter mated to a manual 4 speed transmission.
The interior looks as if it was reupohlstered in vinyl at some point.
The wood all needs to be refinished. The Wilton like carpets are tired.
The visors are missing and the headliner is shot.
The car has rust in many areas, rear quarters, door sills and floor pans.
We have priced the car as a restoration project but it is low eneough to even buy as a parts car.
