Ebay item 8/10/12 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1950-Jaguar-Mark-V-Drophead-Coupe-Convertable-/271030904 ...
Current bid $24,655 reserve not met, 3 bids 9 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
Wonderfully restored and elegant 1950 Mark V Drophead Coupe with a 3 position convertible top. This rare classic is left hand drive, of which less than 499 were made. It has the larger 3.5 liter engine that they made for export. History; This Jaguar was purchased in 1950, and was driven less than 29,000 miles when a wrist pin broke in the engine. It was put in dry storage where it remained for many years. Then in the early 1980s, an older gentleman purchased it, along with another correct 1950 3.5 Jaguar engine with close serial numbers. He had then had the Jaguar professionally restored. Unfortunatly, this gentleman passed away only a few years later. It is estimated that the car has had around 100 milles put on it since restoration. His widow then had the car put in a heated garage, up on blocks, and covered. There it sat for the next 26 years. Recently the widow passed away, and the car was offered for sale. I purchased the Jag., and have put less than 25 miles on it.
Since the car was taken from hibernation, the following things have been done to it. The fuel system was flushed and new filters installed. A new battery was installed. The engine was tuned up and it and the chassis were lubed. The brake system was gone through and flushed. The leather interior was cleaned and conditioned. The cloth top was cleaned. The complete car was detailed, including detailing the underneith the car.
Condition of Car: Paint-beautiful, I see no dents or scratches, except slight paint scuffing on inside of lower door jamb. Paint has a nice glossy shine. There are a few minor age cracks, but very presentable. Chrome is very good. Interior- excellant condition, burgandy leather, a few minor scuffs, but no holes. Carpet and headliner, excellent condition. Beautiful wood trim, also in excellant condition. Tires- Only around 100 miles on them. I see no weather checking. They still have the tire mold nubbins sticking out on the face of the tire. Trunk- Really nice, and comes with a very nice tool kit in the trunk lid. Engine- a very nice easy starting, clean and smooth running. Engine compartment completely detailed and sports many polished aluminum parts. Also included with the car is the convertible top boot cover for when it is in the down position, and the original owners manual. The original engine was found and procured. It was then inspected and cleaned and painted. It is in good condition, but will need rebuilding, new piston, wrist pin, rod cap,and one main bearing cap cover. It has remained untouched and still has less than 29,000 miles on it. This engine will be offered to the winning bidder only, for and additional 1000.00, in USA funds. (please note, the engine pictured by itself is not included in this auction).

Don't miss this opportunity to own a very rare and extremely low mileage moving piece of automotive art!
