Ebay item 5/16/13 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Beautiful-1950-Jaguar-Mark-V-3-5-Litre-Drophead-/2612160 ...
Car has a buy it now price of $129,500 for 6 days.
Sellers description:
1950 Jaguar Mark V 3.5 Litre Drophead
The Mark V drop head offered here carries with it records from it's original purchase in Paris in 1949 by David Scott who was working on the Marshall Plan and arranged his acquisition with Sir Francis Lyons (the founder of Jaguar) himself.
After being donated and on display in a museum in this country for many years it was purchased for the third time. The third owner had the car fully restored and sorted. New Firestone whitewalls were added in April, 2013 for safe touring. A very rare, extremely well documented and desirable Jaguar. A true blue chip investment!

Francis? Ha! A French cousin perhaps. And IIRC good ol' Bill was knighted first in the mid-fifties, when MKV's were already old cars. BTW the colour is nothing like Battleship Grey, a bit more like Birch Grey, but perhaps a bit too cold and light in tone.

Auction description:
St. John's 27 July 2013
Lot 167
1950 Jaguar Mark V 3.5 Drophead Coupe
To be auctioned on Saturday, July 27, 2013
Sold for $88,000
Chassis no. 647145
Engine no. Z2120
Body no. DH1284
Gearbox no. JH3224
Left-hand drive chassis 674145 was purchased in Paris, reportedly by American diplomat David Scott, who was in France working on the Marshall Plan. Original documents with the car include correspondence with Jaguar's Sir William Lyons himself, beginning an excellent trail of documentation leading to the present day. The original owner eventually donated it to a museum, where it remained for many years, but during that time, its condition suffered; fortunately, the third and present owner commissioned a complete restoration upon acquisition. It was subsequently further refreshed in the spring of 2013. A complete, desirable tool kit is present.
