Ebay item 6/23/10
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-Mark-IV-1948-Jaguar-Drop-Head-Convertible-Coupe-M ...
Current bid $95,000 reserve not met, 1 bid 6 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
1948 Mark IV Jaguar 3 Position Drop Head Convertible Coupe
(left hand drive)
Chassis No. 637038
Body No. SL 2565
Odometer: 51,543 miles.
This original, low mileage, well treated Mark IV is a storied "barn find" (actually a nice garage) of an American delivered left hand drive Drop Head (Convertible) Coupe stored by a Jaguar enthusiast untouched for many years.
Extensive nut and bolt restoration about ten years ago, meticulously stored and maintained since its blank check restoration and scoring 94 out of a 100 points at Meadowbrook Concours de Elegance. Judging from pre-restoration photographs, the mileage appears accurate, with probably less than 1,000 miles since restoration.
The right color, the right Drop Head (Convertible) Coupe model, and rare American left hand drive. In my opinion, there is no better color combination than Jaguar Primrose Yellow to properly present this stylish automobile. Red is garish, black, gray, and brown colors are ho-hum, while this soft color perfectly sets off its flowing lines. It is further complimented with burgundy Connelly leather and matching leather trimmed Wilton carpets, new burled walnut wood interior, black German convertible top and beige insulated headliner.
Every piece of chrome has been re-chromed except the head lights which were in such excellent original condition they were only cosmetically restored. Rebuilt twin carbureted twin overhead cam 3.5 liter 6 cylinder motor and all mechanics, runs strong and the gearbox shifts nicely. It is complete except tools and manuals which are available through Jaguar clubs and other sources, if desired (the trunk tool cut-out board is installed). Of course, new tires, glass, rubber seals and everything else expected of a high level show quality restoration.
Before, during and after restoration photographs included in a coffee table quality wooden bound “book” with brass plaque.
This gorgeous Classic is not a trailer queen; it is ready for show and smooth touring with the best of them. It starts, runs, drives and sounds like new.

"SL2565" is the engine number, body number should be "CXXXX" or "DH1XXX". AFAIK. :)

Sorry, I missed the first time that this one has an XK engine fitted. The pushrod engines have the carbs and the exhaust on the opposite sides and obviously no twin-cam covers. :)
