Prior to making its way to the Quail Lodge, the MK V was serviced and sorted. The 1948 Jaguar 3½ Litre Mark IV Three Position Drophead Coupe featured here is finished in stunning Forest Green over a wonderful tan leather interior. This particular example was completed by the factory in 1947 just after Christmas and was originally dispatched to Geneva, Switzerland. By the mid 1960’s the Mark IV was under the ownership of a Chicago, Illinois, based enthusiast. Not long after the Jaguar was sold to sports car enthusiast, and later collector, Walter Mead. Beginning in the early 1970’s Mr. Mead began a thorough restoration, sourcing numerous parts from England and even writing to the Jaguar factory asking for parts availability. Mr. Mead would own and maintain the Jaguar Mark IV for more than 50 years, participating in several Jaguar Club events during that time. Today this Jaguar presents wonderfully, proudly displaying the patina and charm that one would expect from a high-quality older restoration! A recent service has been performed and with full CCCA eligibility, this Jaguar Drophead Coupe is sure to bring many years of enjoyment to its next caretaker. We are proud to offer this wonderful 1948 Jaguar 3½ Litre Mark IV Three Position Drophead Coupe to the most particular investor, collector or enthusiast who appreciates the appeal of British prewar style and luxury.
