24-Years-Owned 1950 Jaguar MK V 3.5L for sale on BaT Auctions - ending September 5 (Lot #54,563) | Bring a Trailer

This 1950 Jaguar Mk V saloon was built on September 1, 1950 and distributed to the US through Hornburg Jaguar of Los Angeles, California. It was acquired by the seller in February 1997 and is finished in black over a matching interior. Power is supplied by a 3.5-liter inline-six mated with a four-speed manual transmission, both of which are said to have been rebuilt in 1999. Equipment includes fender-mounted side mirrors, driving lamps, a sunroof, lap belts, and a wood dash. This Mk V saloon is offered with a tool kit, spare parts, a maintenance handbook, service records, supplementary literature, a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, and a clean Washington title in the seller’s name.

Engine-block stamping Z2946 is shown above and matches the engine number noted on the chassis identification plate and on the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
