This 1950 Jaguar Mk V saloon was reportedly purchased by the seller’s grandfather from the original owner and was thereafter refurbished and entered into concours events in the early 1990s before being passed down to the seller in 2001. The car has been repainted in metallic green over green leather and is powered by a 3.5-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Features include chrome bumpers, grille, and trim, driving lights, a sunroof, rear-hinged front doors, wood interior trim, running boards, rear fender skirts, a pull-out tool tray, and 16″ steel wheels with wide-whitewall tires. This Jaguar Mk V is now offered with manufacturer’s literature and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car was repainted metallic green during the seller’s grandfather’s ownership. Features include chrome trim, driving lights, a sunroof, rear-hinged front doors, running boards, rear fender skirts, and a pull-out tool tray. There is a dent in the left rear door, and the seller reports bubbling in the paint on the left front fender.
Body-color 16″ steel wheels wear polished hubcaps and are mounted with BFGoodrich Silvertown wide-whitewall tires. The hubcaps show wear and oxidation. The car is equipped with independent front suspension and hydraulic drum brakes.
The cabin features burl-wood trim as well as green leather upholstery on the seats and door panels. The seats show wear and the bottoms of the front seats wear padded covers. The seller states that the seats need recovering.
A four-spoke steering wheel fronts a tachometer with a 4,500-rpm redline, a 120-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 72k miles, a handful of which were added by the seller.
The 3.5-liter inline-six features dual SU carburetors and was factory rated at 125 horsepower. The seller reports that the engine requires starting fluid to start when cold, and that the fuel pump and the carburetors require servicing.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. Corrosion is present on underbody components.
Manufacturer’s literature is included in the sale.
The car is titled in California under its engine number, T8210.
