Ebay item 3/24/10
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $5,433, no reserve, 5 bids 3 days left in auction. 86k miles.

Sellers description:
Mark V Saloon 4 door sedan. Repainted, needs complete restoration. Second paint peeling off. Has not run since 1960. No attempt has been made to turn over or start engine since then. The engine is a 3.5 Liter over head valve. It has been in indoor storage since 1960 when my Uncle purchased the car. I can remember riding in the car when he first bought it. I purchased the car in 1985. He started to dismantle the interior, all parts seem to be there. The leather is hard, cracks when pressed on. I have the fog lights, the radiator cap, it does not have the jaguar on it, and the hub caps. Tires not suitable for towing. Surface rust only. The wiring is in very poor condition. The engine looks complete. The radio and heater blower assembly are in the pile of parts found in the car. I have done nothing to the car in the 25 years I have had it, its time to let it go.
The Chassis number is 627703, Body 64700, Engine T8124 and Gearbox SH6863.

Body number corrected to prefix letter G. Year built is most likely early 1950. This car has 7" sealed beam headlights, indicating probable USA delivery when new, but also has trafficators, unusual for a USA delivered car.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
