Current bid $1,580 reserve not met 4 bids 6 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
1950 Jaguar Mk V Saloon. It is running and driving although it is a project. It has the biggest and most desirable engine option the 3.5 L straight 6. It was sold new in Oregon and had one owner for most of its life. It hasn't been on the road for probably at least 10 years it now starts and runs and drives!
The engine sounds great and has good oil pressure. The cooling system works and the clutch and gearbox both work great. At the moment it has no brakes at all. The brake shoes had become stuck to the drums from storage making it very difficult to move the car so a previous owner removed all the shoes. They are included and look to be in ok condition but it will need the entire braking system gone through. The electrics are in pretty good order. The charging system works as do most of the lights, turn signals, heater fan, wipers even the horn works!!
Underneath the car the frame looks very solid, no signs of any real rust problems at all. The body is mostly very good with a couple areas that need attention. The right front wing (fender) looks to have been poorly repaired in the past and the area just behind the right rear door is pushed in a little. Obviously the car will need to be repainted. The doors all open and shut easily and close with a nice solid thunk. The Bias ply tyres are worn but good enough to move the car around. All hold air fine. It has an original slide back steel sun roof that does work.
The chrome is presentable but not great. It still has its original headlights and Lucas fog lights. The interior is fairly presentable. Most of the wood is in pretty nice condition but some needs re-finishing. The Front seats appear to have been re-upholstered in vinyl while the rear seat is still original leather. The door panels are all fair to good and the headliner is fair but with some holes. The carpets will probably need replacing. It has a telescopic steering wheel. The tachometer does not work, not sure about the speedometer, most of the other gauges appear to be working.
The windscreen has a crack in it but since it is flat it isn't very expensive to replace. The rest of the glass is all very good. It comes with a box of spare parts including the removed brake parts previously mentioned, some extra hub caps, some new (not original ) seat belts, a jack and lug wrench plus misc. other bits. It does have a clear title.
Overall this is a project car but it is pretty close to being very useable as-is or would make a great candidate for restoration.
I highly encourage a personal inspection before bidding if possible.
