Sellers description:
1957 Jaguar D-type Beautiful!
Mileage: 5,858 miles
Location: KAHULUI, HI
VIN: 623584
Le Mans Race Car replica
The example offered here is a recreation of an original D-Type Jaguar at a fraction of the cost!
This wonderful re-creation was built in 1994 by Predator Performance and is titled as a 1957 Jaguar. It is British Racing Green with tan leather seats. I bought it from Arizona in 2006.
This startling re-creation of the D-Type Jaguar features right hand drive, all Jaguar running gear including a 4.2 litre triple carb Jaguar engine and a 5 speed gear box. The engine is a 4.2 Jaguar straight-six DOHC (300 bph) with duel overhead cam shaft. The car also has fully adjustable suspension, a large capacity oil sump, headers, triple carburetors and those famous Four-wheel disc brakes. All lights work. The paint is beautiful with very few flaws. The body was expertly fabricated from several materials, the hood is carbon and aluminum, a portion of the rear top near the gas tank is aluminum and glass fiber on the deck lid and other areas. The body, frame suspension and transmission are very solid and the car is a solid driver. The car is extremely good looking. I think that this is the most beautiful car design ever created!
This car offers everything British sports car collectors would expect from a recreation. It runs and drives beautifully. It has current registration, license and safety inspection. It has been driven only 5,858 miles. I drive it regularly and always store it inside. When I take it out people are absolutely amazed at its beauty and distinctive flowing lines. I remember the night I drove it down the mountain on the winding road from my friend’s house to home. It was the most perfect and memorable ride of my life… just me and my D-Type alone together… It performed like a champion!
This a car with enduring beauty that offers endless driving fun and drivability at a fraction of the cost. Car is sold as is with no warranties or guarantees.

The Monterey Sports and Classic Car Auction
19 - 20 August 2005
Lot 117
1957 Jaguar D-Type Replica Roadster
Sold for $38,500
Chassis no. 623584
The example offered here is a recreation of an original D-Type Jaguar at a fraction of the cost. The car was built in 1994 by Predator Racing and has been driven just 5,100 miles since. It is ideal for the enthusiast who cannot afford to add an original D-Type to their
collection, or for the collector who owns an original D-Type Jaguar but is reluctant to take it out on the track. This wonderful recreation offers everything British sports car collectors would expect from a replica and with D-Types selling above $1,000,000 this is a guilt-free
car with tremendous upside for enjoyment.
Additionally, considering its power plant, this D-Type recreation should be somewhat faster than the original D-Types as it has a larger, mildly modified 4.2 Jaguar straight-six DOHC engine, in place of the original 3.5 liter engine. The car also has a fully adjustable suspension, a large capacity oil sump, headers, free flow exhaust and a five-speed transmission rather than the original fourspeed gearbox as originally fitted to the D-Types. Finished in the appropriate and failsafe color of British Racing green, it is ready for both hairpin turns or casual touring, all the while knowing you can truly enjoy the feel of a great car and keep some money in your wallet.
