owner listed as Tony Otolo
One of two Mark V's fitted with DOHC engine as factory test car, radiator moved 4 inches forward, longer bonnet than standard. Possibly made for William Lyons' personal use.

Jaguar "Mark VI": June 2005, Jaguar Enthusiast, UK club magazine, p 71: letter from Harry Parkinson: "In the April 2005 edition of Jaguar Enthusiast ... [p 80] Steve Myers posed questions about the "Mark VI" Jaguar. On a trip to Coventry and the JDHT last year, I researched the records for the only two Mark VIs known. A friend of mine owns the only existing Mark VI. He has the JDHT certificate for the car which I obtained for him while I was researching his car." The first car was chassis number 623173, renumbered by the Experimental Department from 620004, and produced in 1950.
The second, 623053, was manufactured on March 20, 1950 and registered as JVC444. It is believed that Sir William Lyons drove the car for a number of months, not confirmed by records at JDHT but confirmed by Lofty England. This car was sold to a George Hack, an engineer at Bristol Aircraft. The chassis number of the existing car is 623053 fitted with engine number W1130-8, a twin cam XK engine number and has the earlier studless cam covers. 623053 eventually reached the United States and was acquired by Tony Otolo in 1988. Tony lives in the state of Massachusetts, outside of Boston. The car has been resprayed a dark green, but has had very little other work done other than making it road legal." It seems that 623173 may have been scrapped. "That means that 623053 is the only Mark VI remaining. An article about Tony Otolo's Mark VI was done by Jaguar World several years ago, I believe by Paul Skilleter."
Editor: "I am pleased to say that erstwhile journalist Paul Skilleter has prepared an interesting article for us on the Jaguar Mark VI saloon fortuitously to appear in this issue of the magazine."
