Auction description:
Sale 17260 - Collectors Motor Cars, Motorcycles and Automobilia, 12 Sep 2009
Beaulieu Autojumble, National Motor Museum
Lot No: 436
Property of a deceased’s estate
1948 Jaguar 3½-Litre Saloon
Registration no. JLU 810
Chassis no. 612574

Sold for £16,905 inclusive of Buyer's Premium

This particular Jaguar 3½-Litre saloon was first owned by Mr Gottfried Keller of Hampstead, North London, passing to its second owner, one Alfred Scott of Cobham, Surrey in 1951. In 1965 the third owner, a Mr Trevor Hanks of Forest Hill, London acquired the car, which has been in the current (fourth) owner’s hands since 1980. Finished in grey with red leather interior, and equipped with the optional sunroof, the Jaguar has been preserved in highly original condition and is running well, though careful re-commissioning is advised before returning it to the road. The vehicle possesses a complete tool kit and service manual, and is offered with old-style logbook, SORN, Swansea V5 registration document and recently expired MoT (June 2009).
