Sellers description:
1948, 3.5L Saloon is being offered for the first time since a complete body off the frame restoration was completed over a period of almost 15 years. Starting life as a factory demonstrator, this car was used in the AUTOCAR magazine roadtest in March,1948. Car has Sherwood Green exterior, with Suede Green interior. After use as a company demonstator, the car was sold in January 1950 to Parkers LTD (English Dealership) and placed into service. The registration book shows the first owner as Arthur Albert Hook with an Address of Hingston Down Farm, Cox Park, Grunnlslake.
After a life in the English countryside, this car was transported to the U.S.A. in May 1979 and eventually I purchased the car in June of 1985. After I realized what a great history this car had, the decision to do a complete restoration was an easy one. Restoration was completed in early 2000 and immediately the awards started. AACA first junior in 2000, followed in the same year by the first of 2 Jaguar Clubs of North America national championship’s; the second in 2007. Nominated in 2000 and 2001 by AACA as an “outstanding vehicle” by the national awards committee, and has continued to be a winner ever since.
Thru the concours show career, this car has consistently scored at the 99.9+ level and has achieved scores of 100. Rated best in class at the Ault Park Concours d’Elegance in Cincinnati, Ohio where Jaguar was the featured marquee in 2002, was awarded a 1st place senior by AACA, and may be shown this year at the AACA annual event in Hershey Pa. in October.
The Museum quality restoration on this car was completed by the Creative Workshop in Dania Fl. over a 15 yr. period, with great attention to detail and originality. All major mechanical systems were re-done including the entire drivetrain, new wiring harness and all minor components re-done as needed. Interior was restored using the finest leather and carpet, while the original wood was repaired and refinished. The toolkit as shown in the attached photo’s was renewed to as new condition. The Sherwood Green exterior and Suede Green interior are the original colors and all chrome pieces were replated. The car has it's original engine, transmission and body. The car is a RIGHT HAND DRIVE CAR as used in Great Britain. Few of this vintage remain available today, and none, to my knowledge in this condition. This is absolutely the finest Jaguar MK IV Sedan in existence!

This is an exquisitely restored right hand drive Jaguar Mark IV four door sedan that is a one of a kind piece of Jaguar history. Records show it as a "Company Demonstration Car", and verified as the car Tested by Autocar Magazine. It was related as being a "front rank car" and "a fine ambassador abroad for the the high quality British specialist car". In 1980 Paul Skilleter wrote the book "Jaguar Saloon Cars" and featured this exact car in the book on pages 122-124 with the car being photographed at the Dorset House car park. An excerpt from the book reads: "In all respects the body is of "specialist coachbuilder" character, one instance of which is the way in which the doors close..." Sir William Lyons is believed to have owned this remarkable Jaguar at one time. Everything is correct and proper on the car down to the last bolt. All numbers match and it comes with a Heritage Certificate of Authenticity. The car was restored to the original color combination of Sherwood Green with a Suede Green interior and comes with polished hardwood instrument panel, and has similar woodwork on the doors. This remarkable Jaguar has been driven less then 100 test miles since the restoration. This special Mark IV Saloon is for the discerning Jaguar collector who desires an exemplary example with exceptional
