Car to be at Coy's auction 3/10
www.coys.co.uk/auctions/lot.php

Auction description:
Lot 224
Registration Number: FBO 184
Chassis Number: 520828

The car on offer here comes from the collection of 1964 British Rally Champion Eric Jackson, who has owned it for the past three years. Originally sold in Cardiff, it remained in the South Wales area for many years until moving to Manchester, before being shipped to California. It resided in the United States until by a fluke of chance it was spotted by a visitor from Derby, who having always wanted to own a Mk V, agreed to buy the car and had it shipped back to the UK. It was then treated to a full no-expense-spared restoration, before once again making its way back to its original home of South Wales. It was at this time, in March of 2006, that the car was the subject of a six-page feature article in Classics Monthly magazine, touring the picturesque Welsh countryside.

Finished in burgundy and cream with a cream leather interior finished with red piping, this is a rare opportunity to purchase a superb example of this classic Jaguar with an excellent heritage behind it.

Estimate: £30000 - £40000

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
