    Ebay item 12/20/13
    www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-Other-MARK-IV-1948-jaguar-mark-iv-2-5-liter-manual-rhd-p ...
Current bid $8,100 reserve not met, 8 bids 5 days left in auction.

    Sellers description:

This folks, is a 1948 Jaguar Mark IV sedan with the optional 6 cylinder 2.5 litre motor. That happens to be the rarest of the 3 motors offered from 1945-48 with the 3.5 being the most desired but let's think about fuel prices for a minute. This one was good for about 80 miles an hour and that's plenty in 1948 if you ask me.

This old girl is a good project to restore and as you can see, she needs one. The better then great news is this is a solid example to start with. She came here in the 1970's from England and was seldom used over the years in the US but kept inside so she has survived what could have been tragedy.

I will say she fires up in a damn jiffy with that before mentioned 2.5, and I ran her through all of her 4 gears for about 10 miles with no hick ups or back talk. I am not saying your leaving for Brazil tomorrow with 3 passengers but I am saying you can drive her and she really seems to like to run. Turn key, push button and we got a runner.

The interior is obvious. It's original and the cow? hides have suffered. All there and original down to the carpet. The glass is damn decent all around and really the only thing missing is the tools which is actually very good!!! because that means somebody used them to fix her and did not put them back so now we have established some mechanical history. See?

The paint looks good from 23.9 feet away but it has been years since she has had a good paint service. This can be a light to major project depending on your level of taste. Did I mention she runs and drives?

I noticed all the gauges seem to function along with the lights. The brakes seem to be strong and the tires, though old, are capable of another couple 1000 miles. She has 55k kilometers on Odometer.

Another seller with suspiciously little knowledge about what is being sold. It is a Mark V not a " mark IV", there were not 3 engines offered on mark Vs ( there was no 1.5 litre ) , and even if it were a 2.5 litre its top speed was a good deal more than 80mph !

    Sellers description:
I literally just bought this jag, haven't signed the title yet. Got a good deal for it, but I need to sell it. Not asking much more than I bought it for, I really don't have time for another project. Beautiful car, great structural integrity and a strong, clean undercarriage. Needs restoration of interior and new paint. All original parts, and runs and drives.
