Car to be at auction 9/21
www.brightwellslive.com/lot/details/539380
Auction description:
1948 Jaguar Mk IV 2 1/2-litre Saloon
Estimate: £12,000-14,000
An excellent project; lots of work done; complete with took kit; impressive and imposing post-war sports saloon
This old Jaguar is thought to have last been on the road in the '70s. As you can see, there is still plenty to do, but the wings have been professionally repaired and as far as we can tell, the car is complete.
A 2 1/2-litre model, there are two trunks of spares and the interior and trim look saveable. Open the boot and it even sports a complete (or very near) toolkit.
Only on offer due to an unfortunate reduction in storage space, it has an old style log book and the the number is still current on the DVLA computer but there is little other supporting paperwork.
More than a few weekend's work to get back on the road, it is nevertheless a straightforward project which will result in a fine, fast high quality post-war sports saloon.
