This is the second Jaguar Mark IV in my collection.

It is 100% original. As you can see from the pics, the car was (is) very well kept. The rear blind-curtain still works! The tool compartment is complete!

The car was originally exported to Belgium in 1948, so it is original LHD.

If you know anything about the history of this car - please e-mail me.

Congratulations on this addition to your collection. Outstanding piece of history.

Hi, very nice, the interior is called "Tan" it was the most common interior in a Black car, especially when decided by the factory all the way until 1968. Very rare nowadays. Cheers!

    Thanks Sol:)

Thank you Pekka T, I wasn' sure if it's brown interior or tan (frankly speaking, I'm still not sure:)

As fo the country, the car is now in France.

You're welcome Mateusz, yes it is brown, but Jaguar called it "Tan". This is a very big problem nowadays as most people assume "Tan" in their JHT certificate would mean light brown, like Beige, but it does not. Even the 1960's "Light Tan" is almost orange, very saturated brown. I have managed to purchase 1950's and 1960's factory leather samples for reference and a bunch of colour charts. You can find them also in the photo albums on www.jag-lovers.org
    Cheers!
BTW, you can ad info (engine, gearbox and body numbers, reg. number etc.) yourself by choosing "edit data". Take care!

In fact, the trim colour isn't brown, either tan - it is pigskin:)

    Hi Mateusz,

You are right, but so am I! ;) I think we should meet, I have an original factory leather sample booklet from the 1950's and a lot of original brochures. The whole picture is much more complicated. Actually "Pigskin" is the grain on the leather, the colour is "Tan". BUT Jaguar did call that for marketing purposes only "Pigskin" at some point, for instance on the XK120 where duo-tone interiors were available for the OTS (or Super Sports like they called it at first) there was "Biscuit and Pigskin", for the MKV (and MKIV) it was called "Pigskin Grain" in the borchures www.jag-lovers.org/brochures/bro1949/jag_48_19_l.jpg and in whole "Pigskin Grain Tan" you see? So the problem is that not all "Tan" was "Pigskin", but all "Pigskin" was always coloured "Tan". Nowadays "Tan" is often mistaken for "Beige" or "Biscuit" because people do not know what it looked like. I am glad you got the LHT certificate and know much more now then before! Take care!

    Pekka you're right!

I've just received Jaguar brochure from 1946, in colour schemes the full name of leather is: Pigskin Grain Tan.
