Opening bid $1,025 reserve not met, 2 bids 6 days left in auction. Buy it now price $35,000. Car now said to be in McAllen, Texas.

Sellers description:
i am a car lover and i am a car dealer ,in south texas and i bought three awesome cars from a local collector, this car is a beautiful 48 jag salloon ,it is one of the prettiest old cars I have ever had , so dainty and well proportioned, i think that it is better looking than a rolls or bently to me . this car starts right up and runs okay although it does have some minor amount of smoke, possibly oil, water vapor or old gas ? it has two new back tires, fresh battery, working headlights and side and back lights, the tach and speedo work, the wood is very presentable, the clutch and gearbox are excellent, as are the steering and brakes, handbrake holds, windows roll up and down but i do have to help the driver side front, it has the roll out front windshield, and the sliding sunroof which is stuck ? but is almost closed and i don't want to force it, the paint is nice but older and does have some cracks and some small rust bubbles in a couple of the doors down low but overall it is beautiful, it was obviously restored 10 years or so ago and the color combo is superb, the seats are vinyl but it is not tacky and in fact it looks very nice, the trunk is beautiful and it has the built in tool box but the tools are gone, the undercarriage is very clean and rust free.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
