Car was at auction in '07
www.bonhams.com/cgi-bin/public.sh/pubweb/publicSite.r

One of 3,846 manufactured with left-hand drive and one of only 430 imported into France, this Jaguar MkX was sold new early in 1963 via the Jaguar concessionaire in Paris, Royal-Elysees on Rue de Longchamp. Acquired by the current owner in 1988, it underwent extensive refurbishment during the early 1990s including complete restoration of the bodywork and repaint in dark blue metallic. The ‘chassis’ was given an anti-corrosion treatment (something not available to Jaguar in the 1960s) and all the rubber seals replaced and the brightwork re-plated. The upholstery has been re-trimmed in off-white Connolly leather but otherwise the interior is as original. All mechanical elements were dismantled, checked and either overhauled or replaced. The engine has been rebuilt to ‘unleaded’ specification, the power steering upgraded to Bendix type, a stainless-steel exhaust fitted and the old immersed Lucas fuel pumps replaced by modern Facet units mounted outside the tanks. A matching-numbers car equipped with the desirable manual/overdrive transmission, this well cared-for Jaguar MkX comes complete with jack and tool kit, and is offered with owner’s manuals (French and English versions), workshop manual (English), restoration photographs, Contrôle Technique and French Carte Grise.

Ebay item 2/5/08

Car has a buy it now price of $55,000 for 9 days.

Sellers description:
I purchased this car in monaco in may 2007 and shipped her back to NY with the intention of showing her. In 1999 this car was completely restored and then used very little. The restoration was reported to have cost 78,000 Euros (do the math) I have completely recommissioned the car so she is ready for the road. I honestly believe this must be the only MKX 3.8 Jaguar with a manual four speed with overdrive in the country. She was a special order car in France, one of only two in manual. The engine and gearbox in this car are the same as the engine fitted in the E Type and she has bags of power and is fast for a car this big. I was amazed at how much power she has.Unfortunately there were never any pics of the car being restored, however the Jaguar specialists who have been through her say she is in fantastic condition and that she was dismantled and rebuilt to a very high standard. The story behind this one owner car is that she was owned by a notorious restrauntour in Marsaille all her life. This is a true classic and these cars just don't exist in this condition anymore. I have fitted wider wire wheels and new tyres which really set the car off, however I have the originals too. I have also fitted seatbelts to the front and rear.I have also fitted a new crhome surround to the rear window which took 3 months to find. The headlights have been upgraded for modern driving.Viewing is highly recommended. The car is garaged in Manhattan with the rest of my collection.

Sold for €12,500 plus Premium and tax at above Bonhams auction.

Car has a buy it now price of $25,000 for 20 days. 31k miles.

Sellers description:
Gorgeous MK10 Jaguar. I purchased this car when on a trip to Monaco. This car was completely restored in 1998 and has seen little use until she came to the US in 2007. When the car arrived in New York I set about re-commissioning her for use on US roads. The restoration, which was done in France was reportedly over 100,000 euros, and you can see why. She is not concours however, it would not take very much to make her so. I recommend a full inspection. I would be happy to show her with a little notice and can also have her put up on a ramp so you can take a good look underneath. She starts first time and is lovely to drive. 3.8 Jaguar MK10 vin no 352357. engine number ZA 7426-8 The original wheels and tyres are also available. The wheels on the car are new Dayton 70 spoke CWW with new tyres. Car comes serviced and tuned. The chrome trim has now been fitted to the rear window.
